Project Summary

This newly constructed facility is a new cafeteria located on the Mississippi State University campus. The curtain wall is a clear anodized system provided by Oldcastle BE. This building consists of a one of a kind custom made vertical mullion design. The architect was looking to convey columns with aluminum curtain wall mullions. Each 15’ 4” vertical mull weighed 360 pounds, proving to be a challenge during installation. Quality management of water control consisted of timely planning and design. The glass for this project is a solargray insulated tempered unit, providing a sophisticated look against the shininess of the framing. All of the storefront entrances provided were a custom height of 9’ to give a grand entrance appeal.
The interior of this facility was custom designed as well. The ½” clear tempered sneeze guards provided consisted of 1” square sand blasted patterns that had to be computer designed prior to production. This glass was installed on aluminum square stand offs, connected through the finished counter tile.
This project was completed in budget and within the allotted schedule with close coordination between the architect, contractor and numerous sub contractors.
